Zimbabwe Ministry of Education, Sport and Culture's Organisational Structure

The Ministry of Education Sport and Culture in Zimbabwe is characterised by a Minister and Deputy Minister under him as the political heads and a Permanent Secretary as the administrative head of the ministry. The Ministry comprises of five functional divisions and these are, Quality Assurance Division, Human Resources Development Division,· Policy & Research Development Division,  Communication  Division and Finance Division  

 The Divisions are made up of several functional sections headed by Deputy Directors and/or Under Secretaries.

There are nine (10) administrative provinces in the Ministry which, are headed by Provincial Education Directors. Each province is further divided into administrative districts which, are headed by District Education Officers. Currently there are fifty-nine (59) official districts in the country. However, Harare, with a purely urban setting, is divided into 7 administrative circuits. This invariably increases the number of districts, in the system, to sixty-six (66).
